Pressey/Forsett Wedding Sets the House on Fire

Used to teamwork, Angie Pressey & Justin Forsett became the star players in a game more important than the national championships- their wedding ceremony and now, marriage. The ceremony, held at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas, filled the sanctuary with jubilant energy which I could feel deep-down to the core — and I clearly wasn’t the only one.
In a sacred, surprising ceremony, two talented souls shared laughter, God and tears. OK, maybe no tears for JUSTIN!- Psst, Justin, if you want to admit it or deny it just leave a comment :-). Sneaky Justin completely surprised Angie when her favorite singer, Avant, showed up to sing during the emotional ceremony, then again when Avant performed several encores during the reception stoking the house-on-fire! With so much celebrating, it’s a good thing the Omni Park West Hotel had a huge dance floor, made all the more spectacular by enhancements from AVT Event Technologies. Yolanda Haley coordinated this high energy event, putting together a fabulous team.
Thank you, Angie and Justin, for making the inquiries that allowed me to join you in Dallas. I feel completely honored to have photographed your portrait session and your wedding celebration. On top of that, I couldn’t have had a better time. You make it easy to love my job!

Surprise, surprise. Justin arranged for Avant to grace his union with Angie. Clearly she was hugely surprised and Justin received his well-earned look of love and gratitude from Angie as she realized Avant was indeed singing, in flesh and blood.

College girls 22 years later, on Nantucket. Successful after all these years.

Sipping fine champagne on the beaches of Nantucket. Sunset made to order. Five adult girls indulge in giggles and cameras- just like 22 years earlier living together, traveling and playing at being professional photographers. Claudia Kronenberg and I have emerged from RIT and our year photographing abroad as successful photographers on different coasts. Annie Wiswal Widger’s creation of Gentle Thunder Farms is an equestrian Shangri-La. With her big-heart humor, Annie leads trial rides and boards/owns 20 horses. She also runs a gift shop with all things equestrian. Both Anne Sarsfield Morton and Laura Zeffer have found their personal peace through meditation and self-awareness. Anne occasionally teaches meditation after years of running an on-line fine art gallery featuring her fellow Vermont artists. Laura meditates under the guidance of the late world-renown guru for peace, Sri Chin moi. Laura and I both live in Seattle now so get to run and swim together.

Five years until our next official reunion, we College and Europe-traveling friends are happily bonded for life.

Photographing Sizzling Las Vegas Wedding at the Green Valley Resort and Spa

A formula for wedding photography disaster? Men in black tuxes, women in long dresses, outside on a 107 degree day? Not so. After 15 years of dating, Jenny Tang and Luan Li were determined to have a fabulous wedding day. As temps rose, these folks kept their cool; attitude, that is. Not a complaint was heard. Playful natures intact, Jenny, Luan, 14 attendants and family showed their true colors, even inside of damp clothing. Spirits were NOT dampened though, and I can’t remember when I last experienced this much fun at a wedding. And I’ve been to many a fun wedding!

Green Valley Ranch was also fabulous, from modern Mediterranean poolside to soothing main lobby, to generous balconied suite. Even hallways and side entrances were designed as if with photography in mind. And my God, the food. Eating is often a quick experience for me while working. Even so I couldn’t help but enjoy the steak cooked to perfection, the potato tower light and dramatic in presentation, but the lobster was the highlight. Having lobster served atop it shell made the dinning experience all the more divine.
Good taste was part of not only food, but most of all, in choice of friends. The wedding party clearly loves this couple and showed it every minute of this memorable wedding day.
